Thermal Inspection Cameras, or thermal imagers, are cameras with thermal sensors. They are useful tool for electronics, construction, home inspection, car/airplane maintenance and repair, air conditioners and heaters.
The most important factors to consider when choosing a thermal imaging camera are:
The most important factors to consider when choosing a thermal imaging camera are:
- Thermal image resolution. Higher resolution, better the thermal images. The minimal resolution of 60x60 pixel is required to get a acceptable image. TH-3 is 60x60, HT-18 is 220x160 and HT-19 is 320x240.
- Temperature range
There are three types of thermal imaging cameras:
One is handheld with trigger like gun shape (Model HT-02, HT-04D, HT-04, HT-18 and HT-19)
Another is palm-held pocket size like a smartphone (HT-A1 and HT-A2)
Third is thermal cameras connected to a smartphone. (HT-201 and HT-301, for Android device only now)
The table below will help you choose a right thermal camera for your applications. A general rule is that, higher resolution, better image quality and easier for your job.

Resolution and image quality: higher resolution, more details, see farther, more accurate temperature readings
*The 1st row and 2nd row have the same thermal resolution 320x240, but different optical field of view. From our experience and feedback from mechanics and technicians, the 160x120 resolution is the minimum needed for a good quality thermal camera.
